The Like a Virgin singer may have cut the mustard with her wide eyed, blonde curled, sexy vixen look back in the 1980’s, but her lifestyle and reputation hasn’t stood the test of time when it comes to being one of Hugh Hefner’s Playboy models moving into the 2000’s.

Unlike celebrities who still command a firm following among Playboy magazine collectors, like Drew Barrymore, Pamela Anderson and even the now deceased Anna Nicole Smith, Madonna has not held her own in the world of models and sex icons when it comes to Hef’s models!

The Material Girl, who posed for Playboy magazine back in September 1985, at the height of her career, and was the last model to have a staple placed firmly in her naval, hasn’t had an encore performance with the famous men’s magazine and looks less like being recalled for a photos shoot as time passes by and her involvement with disreputable sportsmen and toy boys hit’s the worldwide tabloids.

The self confessed Queen of Pop is now seeing her former flaming sexual attributes dying with a good dousing of broken marriages, adulterous relationships and world tours more resembling an antiques road show than a sexy, pert, desirable young woman!

Not, perhaps, a name that jumps out at the average Jo in the street, with no huge movie deals, celebrity marriages or DUI charges, but Karen McDougal is a firm favourite among the throngs of guys who are avid followers of Hugh Hefner’s Playboy magazine and DVD’s and videos

Karen, one of five children, from an early age Karen had a passion for ballet, tap dancing, and had an eye for all things feminine.

Standing 5 ft 8 inches tall, with her beautiful cascading hair and glamorous looks, Karen earned her self the name Barbie while attending high school at River Valley High School, in Michigan.

Karen’s overall beauty and sporty attitude lead her to the school’s cheerleader team but her talents didn’t stop with the physical, she was also musical and played the clarinet, which she still plays in her spare time.

After leaving school, Karen didn’t instantly break into the world of modeling and found herself working as a pre-kindergarten teacher in a Detroit suburb.

During her teaching days a friend of Karen’s convinced her to join a swimsuit contest, the Venus Swimwear International Model Search. Karen was selected as the newest Venus swimsuit model, which led to a whole world of opportunity for her in the world of fashion and modeling.

That was where Karen made friends with a Playboy photographer who suggested she make a test shoot for Hugh Hefner’s Playboy magazine.

With a little bit of luck on her side and her general beauty, Karen was soon a favourite with Playboy and was named Playboy’s Miss December in 1997, and 1998 Playmate of the Year and as 1998’s Playboy Queen.

Karen has also appeared in Playboy Video Centerfold: Playmate of the Year and Playboy Video Playmate Calendar and making the requisite appearances, before handing over the crown to 1999 Playmate of the Year, Heather Kozar.

Karen has also signed a developmental contract with the WWF in 2000, and also appeared in the blockbuster Charlie’s Angels in the role of a party girl as well as 2001’s The Arena.

When Suzanne Somers first came to the attention the public it was when she began acting in small roles during the late 1960s and early 1970s, appearing on various talk shows promoting her book of poetry and taking on bit parts in movies such as the “Blonde in the T-Bird” in American Graffiti, and an episode of the American version of the sitcom Lotsa Luck as the femme fatale in the early 1970s.

But Suzanne’s career really took off when she landed the role of the ditzy blonde “Chrissy Snow” on the ABC sitcom Three’s Company in 1977. With her acting career somewhat in tatters Suzanne auditioned for the role of Jill Monroe in Charlie’s Angels in 1976 but the role eventually went to Farrah Fawcett-Majors.

But that didn’t stop her grabbing the attention of the guys at Playboy magazine who signed her up for the cover of Playboy in February 1980 and again in December 1984. Somers photos that appeared in the 1980 Playboy cover and nude pictorial were taken years before, when Suzanne was a struggling model and actress. The 1984 pictorial was current.

Since leaving the world of glamour modeling Suzanne Somers has turned her hand to writing has been the author of 17 books with many of them appearing on the bestseller lists and she currently boasts more than 10 million copies of her books in print worldwide!

Suzanne is a mother, a grandmother, and has been married to celebrity Alan Hamel for nearly 40 years. Suzanne is an inspiration in so many ways to women everywhere, not only for rising from a very troubled childhood to the dizzy heights of stardom, but for her battle with breast cancer which she has made very public, announcing it on the Larry king Live show in 2001.

When we think of Sally Field, sexy is probably not the first thing that springs to mind, but Sally can do sexy as well as anyone, and she keeps her clothes on while doing it!

The young woman who had the world at her feet back in the late 1990’s and seemed to blow it all, literally. With little brunette, Shannen Doherty, drinking, her bad temper and generally reeking havoc on the set of Beverly Hill 90210, she quickly became a target for every tabloid across the land.

But prior to her acting demise, Doherty was the hottest commodity in Hollywood in the Aaron Spelling produced television series Beverly Hills, 90210 as Brenda Walsh and Charmed as Prue Halliwell, and once again Hugh Hefner took full advantage her celebrity image and propositioned Shannen to appear on the cover of his Playboy magazine publication in 1993, March 1994.

Even long after sex tapes had emerged, charges of fist fights had been levied at her and Shannen had suffered broken marriages to Ashley Hamilton, son of George Hamilton and Rick Salomon, known for very little than his romances, and a broken engagement to Judd Nelson she made another cover of Playboy magazine in December 2003. She also  featured in a 10-page pictorial.

Shannen starred in the Charmed, the TV show that followed the supernatural experiences of four ‘good witch’ sisters, in the early 2000’s.

Now a days Shannen lives a fairly quiet life on her horse ranch in Ventura County, California along with her two dogs.
