An instantly recognizable name if one has been exposed to the King of Calypso, Harry Belafonte and his ‘Island in the Sun’, is that of Playboy model Shari Belafonte.

With a multi faceted which includes writer, model, singer and actress Shari became another of Hugh Hefner’s celebrity Playboy cover girls in September 2000 when she graced the cover of his iconic magazine dressed in little more than Caribbean island styled jewelry and long crimped hair which hid her voluptuous form.
Shari got her start as a successful cover girl model when she appeared in commercials for Calvin Klein jeans and went on to make her feature film debut in 1982 in the movies Time Walker and If You Could See What I Hear.

Leaving her glamour days behind, Shari became the face of Julie Gilette on the 1980s television series Hotel and as a spokesperson for the diet supplement Slim-Fast during the 1990s and more recently Shari could be seen hosting a travel program called “Travels In Mexico And The Caribbean With Shari Belafonte” on NYCTV.
