Once a bikini babe, always a bikini babe! That seems to be the case with former Playboy model Jenny McCarthy as she hosted the Annual Midsummer Night’s Dream party this weekend in Las Vegas.

At 37, Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Playmate of the year 1994 showed her adoring fans that she still has what it takes to make pulses race and blood pressure rise!

Wearing an white bikini in an Egytian slave style accompanied by a gold snake necklace and sky high heels, Miss McCarthy, who recently split with long time boyfriend, actor, Jim Carrey, adopted a Playboy pose outside the Palms Pool & Bungalows in Las Vegas.

The mother of one, began her career as a Playboy magazine model in 1993, before launching a television and film acting career. In recent years she has written books about parenting, and has become an activist promoting controversial claims that vaccines cause autism and that chelation therapy is effective against autism.
Ask most men, and even women for that matter, who they would rate as Playboy’s number one model and the answer would probably be overwhelmingly Pamela Anderson. Although after that, the remaining top 9 in the Playboy top 10 model list is somewhat surprising. But when one considers that the iconic men’s magazine first launched in 1953 by Hugh Hefner, it has plenty of collectors whose memories stretch back 55 years to their own all time favourites, then the list becomes more believable.

At #10 there’s the woman who’s had more husbands than Hef has had Playmates, Elizabeth Taylor. The Hollywood actress and Academy Award winner appeared in a pictorial in Playboy January 1963, the year she appeared in the blockbuster, Cleopatra with her, then husband, Richard Burton.
Coming in at #9 is Catherine Deneuve, the beautiful French actress who made several Playboy appearances with her first being at just 20 years of age and including July 1969, December 1969 and December 1970.

The #8 position went to the trouble actress and model Anna Nicole Smith who became a firm favourite with Playboy enthusiast during the 1990’s when in 1992 se first appeared in the magazine using her birth name, Vickie Smith. Her success skyrocketed from there, and she was named the 1993 Playmate of the Year when she changed her name to Anna Nicole. The statuesque model also appeared in several special editions of Playboy magazine among which was an edition totally devoted to Anna Nicole.

The lucky #7 position is occupied by the eternally youthful Cindy Crawford who graced the cover of Playboy magazine in July1988 and again in May 1996 and October 1998. Cindy also appears on the cover of the special edition Supermodels 1995.

Appearing just outside the top 5 is Jenny McCarthy who took #6 in the ratings. Jenny has been featured in the magazine on several occasions, and her photos have also appeared in at least 15 Playboy special editions. Playboy was the making of Jenny who has since gone on to become a TV celebrity and an advocate in the research for a cure for autism.
As with several Playboy stars #5, Jane Mansfield, suffered an early demise when she was killed in a car accident in 1967. But her Playboy appearances have left an abiding memory of 1950’s glamour and how women appeared on the silver screen of the 1950’s.The young, innocent, braided beauty of Bo Derek placed her at #4 in the top 10 Playboy model list. Although better known for the number 10 after appearing in the movie of the same name, we’re sure Bo didn’t have any issues being placed in the top five.
Who could forget the original Bond girl who takes the #3 place, Ursula Andress? The beauty who rose from the waves in Dr No, as Honey Ryder, with her now iconic white bikini, her knife and shell in hand humming an alluring calypso. Revealing what only her leading men such as James Dean and Sean Connery, had been privy to, Ursula appeared in several issues of Playboy magazine including Playboy’s 50 Most Beautiful Women 1989 and The Girls of Playboy 1973.

Although she was the #1 lady to grace to cover of Playboy magazine in 1953, propelling Hugh Hefner to magazine mogul over the next 50 years, the #2 position is held by Marilyn Monroe. On her cover photo for Playboy’s first cover Marilyn wore a dress with a low, risqué neckline, taken at the 1952 Miss America parade. The nude photo inside the magazine was actually taken in 1949 at a calendar shoot. In September 1955, Miss Monroe also appeared on the magazine’s cover. With the blonde beauties iconic status being clear many years after her sudden death, Hugh Hefner made the decision to make a reprint of the original 1953 cover carrying Monroe’s picture.

It probably comes as no surprise to anyone that the #1 position goes to former Baywatch beauty, Pamela Anderson. Having made more Playboy magazine appearances, 12 in all, than any other model it was only fitting that the surgically enhanced Miss Anderson should hold pole position. Pamela’s first appearance came on the cover of Playboy magazine October 1989 and continued her appearances right through to January 2007. With countless pictorials and shoots throughout her Playboy career, it’s a just reward for the Canadian born beauty who still remains a close friend of Mr Playboy himself, Hugh Hefner.
Jenny McCarthy, the former Playboy model, comedienne, actress, author and activist can now add ex-girlfriend of Jim Carrey to her list of past accomplishments as the two tweeted on Twitter that their five year relationship has now run it’s course and the couple have decided to part company but remain friends.
Jenny, who appeared as the cover girl on several Playboy magazines, Playboy DVDs and Videos is a favourite with Playboy magazine collectors even today. The 38 year old native of Chicago first made her appearance with Hugh Hefner’s Playboy magazine in 1993 when the magazine wanted her to pose for the October issue. For her first Playboy shoot she was $20,000 but as she progressed through the ranks of Playboy stardom she became the Playmate of the Month and later the Playmate of the Year, resulting in much larger pay cheques as time went by.
These days Jenny spends her time caring for her son, Evan, who has been diagnosed with autism and campaigning for the cause.
She may be new to the cover of Playboy but as a Playboy model, Samantha Harris is almost an old hand, well, if being 25 years old and first appearing in Playboy 2007 counts as being an old hand!

A Florida resident, Samantha was crowned Playboy Cyber Girl of the Month in April 2007, by Mr Hugh Hefner and again enjoyed fame with a 6 page pictorial as “Cyber Girl 2008: Access Granted,” in July of that year.

But now, just a little over a year later Samantha has reached the dizzy heights of cover girl for Playboy’s Nudes magazine titled, ‘Nude Girls Exposed‘, for the November 2009 issue.

Miss Harris came up through the ranks of glamour modeling having achieved the title of Miss St. Augustine, Florida and Miss Altamonte Springs , Florida for Hawaiian Tropic. But with her ambitions set higher, Samantha always wanted to be a Playboy model so being given an opportunity to work so closely with the company was her dream come true.

Samantha joins many other beauties who have graced the cover of Playboy Nudes magazine including Pamela Anderson, Jenny McCarthy, Patti Breton and Amy Sue Cooper.
And a little nugget of information for any of her fans who are also hoping for an opportunity with this Playboy model, Samantha says, “I like a guy who drinks beer, watches football, and can make me laugh.”

What happens to a Playboy model when she outgrows her posing days and glamour photo shoots?

Well, in the case of Jenny McCarthy, she continues to remain an evergreen beauty, but with added grace, femininity and deeper, more meaningful directions in her life.

Gone are the days of skimpy swimsuits, the bunny ears and the centerfold pictorial for Jenny as she devotes her life to the little boy that has brought her equal happiness to those heady days at Hugh Hefner’s Playboy mansion, her son Evan!

As a celebrity mother, Jenny has found her fame can help to bring attention to many causes worldwide, ranging from autism to non-toxic infant and junior products.

Following the diagnosis in 2005, that Jenny’s son had autism and that there was no cure she began to treat Evan holistically through diet, nutrition and other interventions in his environment.

And with the two main men in her life, son Evan and actor Jim Carrey, Jenny, 37, retains her Playboy model looks and figure, but finds sharing her time with Playboy is now out of the question!
