Vanna White isn’t your run of the mill Playboy model! Vanna came to Playboy via a TV broadcast that caught the imagination of both viewers and producers alike. During the first TV airing of the show, The Price is Right, Vanna was one of the first 4 contestants to reply to the call, ‘Come on Down’ in June 1980. Although Vanna wasn’t chosen to take part in that particular show, she was caught on film running back to her seat and the footage was to be shown on several occasions after that.
The footage made the airways on The Price Is Right 25th Anniversary Special in August 1996 and also would be featured on the special broadcast Game Show Moments Gone Bananas.

With that morsel of ‘celebrity’ to her credit, two years later Vanna auditioned for the sought after position of ‘letter-turner’ on The Wheel of Fortune and won the attention of Merv griffin who selected her from 2 other finalists and she filled the shoes left vacant by Susan Stafford until the show ended in 1991.
But it wasn’t just the attention of Merv that brought big changes in Vanna’s life. In 1987 Hugh Hefner made Vanna White the subject of a special edition Playboy magazine which had a total of 8- pages of photos of Vanna.

Ten years later, Vanna was invited back to Playboy where she once again became a Playboy model gracing the cover of Hugh’s May 1997 issue of his men’s magazine.

Fame continued to follow Vanna as she White also has made cameo appearances on television shows such as Married… with Children, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, 227 and Full House, movies such as Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult, and served as guest timekeeper for WrestleMania IV. In 1992, the Guinness Book of World Records recognized White as “television’s most frequent clapper.” On April 20, 2006, she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
